By now you will probably have heard that the Ohio Trucking Association has made the decision to take back the running of the Ohio State Safe Driving Championships for 2012. The Ohio Professional Drivers Association will no longer participate in this event.
What we in OPRA will be doing in 2012 is holding a Roadeo that will be open to any driver who wishes to participate in our event. Our goal is to allow drivers from all over the State to compete in a organized roadeo This event will be hosted by OPRA and we are offering the opportunity to any driver that would like to try his/her skills on our course, or test their skills in a Pre-tripping equipment contest. Drivers that wish to go to the State event will find this roadeo as a opportunity to polish there skills under a competition setting.
If you ever wanted to try your skills on a competition course please join us for a fun day for all. We will have door prizes and trophies for the winners and food will be available at course site.
We plan on having our roadeo on the May 20, 2012. It will be held at the Headquarter of TeamDriver Inc. located at 4445 State Rd. Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. TeamDriver has donated the use of their 10 acre pave lot that they use for many safe driving courses including several kinds of trucks , fire truck training , student driver training , skid pad train , ATV training and much more. We will be starting at 8:00 am ending at 4:00 PM. For more information an entry forms please contact Karen Graham @ number listed below.
What we could use is some help securing equipment for the roadeo. If you or your company would like to donate any equipment for the day, please contact Alan Graham, at 330-608-6873 or Alan Platfoot at 957-726-0853. The Officers and members of OPRA will be working with “ THE WOUNDED WARRIORS PROGRAM “. An all proceeds after our expenses will go to this fine organization. So please try to attend and make this a memorable program for a great cause.
